On the back of a new contract with Australia Post that allows for schedule changes and vehicle upgrades, Cochrane's has gained a real advantage in the market with its ability to service Broken Hill.
While this run has been in our repertoire for over 20 years, the addition of two new 14 pallet tautliners and 8 pallet pig trailers allows Cochrane's to pick up express shipments in Adelaide and deliver in Broken Hill next day - the same service it provides to any Outer Metro or Regional town in South Australia and Mildura. With a fleet of over 40 pickup vehicles in Adelaide, this gives us tremendous advantages over the competition in terms of cutoff times for pickups, while freight continues to enjoy the same supply chain visibility as it does in other regional centres. Operating the run 7 days a week also allows customers (by arrangement) the chance to meet a wide range of receiver expectations including emergency spares.
